HMS Resolution Reunion

24/06/09

Our ships company reunion planning is going into overdrive, we have no tentatively received permission from the Government Department of Equipment and Supplies (They own the boat for the government) which states we may apply to Babcocks at Rosyth Dockyard for access to the boat and we therefore are in contact with them. Once we have made the necessary arrangements with them, we shall no doubt pass all the information onto the members, we have sourced hotels and costings, we are in discussion regarding an itinerary for the weekend, but if you want your say then sign up on the forums and let us know or email me here This is one of the major events of the year, so keep your eyes and ears open and ask what questions you can, we will help.

HMS Resolution Charity Drive

24/06/09

The Association has decided to support what charities we can, with this in mind we are supporting the RNLI in the first instance, our target of £1000 will allow the RNLI to train one crew member for one year. As we have a member who serves the RNLI we felt it only right that we support this great Institute, our running total as today is £440 raised so far, in a little over 5 months is not bad at all, if you wish to make a donation then either use the paypal block in the forums or email me here and i will provide a mailing address or bank details if you prefer a direct transfer.

Charity Cruise

24/06/09

In support of the charity donations above we have setup a virtual charity cruise onboard our old boat, what this means is that we have allotted different jobs within the boat, all thought up by the members, from cleaning the heads to polishing the screw, many of the members are taking their slots onboard, with donations for their wives and girlfriends to do some of the jobs onboard! Think of it what you will, but donations are what we are after and the cruise is in a good cause, so look out for it on the forum and contact the chairman for your slot!

This is a great start with the site only been online a little over 5 months, we have crew members from the original build in Barrow to the guys who sailed her for the last time to Rosyth. Many dits are being spun and old crewmates making renewed friendships, afterall thats what we are about.
